The Kowloon West Cluster of the Hospital Authority on Monday confirmed the doctor’s departure but did not say whether he had resigned or been dismissed. “The cluster had previously conducted a serious investigation and a comprehensive review of the incident.

It confirmed that the individual involved is no longer an employee of the Hospital Authority,” a spokesman said. “The cluster consistently attaches the utmost importance to protecting patient privacy, reiterating that all staff members must strictly abide by relevant regulations to ensure that patient privacy remains inviolable, and no form of misconduct will be tolerated.” The authority’s statement came after media reports said that Jenson So, a doctor with the Kowloon West Cluster and a former King Maker III contestant on ViuTV, had been removed from the hospital’s internal WhatsApp groups and not included in next month’s duty roster.

Jensen So, who uses the Instagram handle “sojendr” and has 5,800 followers, was quickly identified by online users as the former King Maker III contestant.

Photo: Handout So sparked a social media outcry last month after posting an Instagram story showing himself performing a resuscitation in what appeared to be a public hospital ward.

The image, which went viral, showed him holding medical equipment alongside the caption: “A rarely seen cardioversion – everyone has come to watch me deliver the electric shock.” He did not deny posting the image but claimed he was being smeared online following an ethics complaint he had filed with the Medical Council against another doctor.

So, who uses the Instagram handle “sojendr” and has 5,800 followers, was quickly identified by social media users as the former King Maker III contestant.

He reached the top 83 of the reality show in 2020, while working in neurosurgery before moving to accident and emergency duties during the Covid pandemic.
