Seven defendants – including former intelligence agents, soldiers and businessmen – face possible life sentences.

Prosecutors allege the group carried out murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault and criminal conspiracy on behalf of a mafia network inside the Athanor lodge in the Paris suburb of Puteaux.
